2021 Wrath Pinot Noir, Tondre Grapefield
In Stock
Wrath's previous vintages of Tondré Grapefield Pinot Noirs have shared a distinctive rich, dense quality that comes from the terroir of this outstanding vineyard and the inclusion of the rarely used 943 clone. The 2021 is a blend that shows the flavor development we only get from their fruit. The finished wine combines plum, boysenberries, stone fruit, graphite, and hints of earth to form a decandent, dense Pinot Noir that is able to remain nimble due to is integrated acidity and tannins.
Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
The distinguished Santa Lucia Highlands' appellation has protruding, southeast-facing slopes, strong maritime influences from Monterey Bay and ancient glacial soils consisting of decomposed granite, gravel and sandy loam. The unique location of Tondré Grapefield allows the grapes to have an extended “hang time”, meaning more sunlight on the vine, more grape ripening and sufficient cool-down in the evening to firm up the fruit’s natural acidity. Tondré Grapefield vines have deep soil penetration and mineral extraction giving the grapes distinctively intense flavor.
